Day 8

End of the day. Thoughts are jumping from one to the next. Conversations from the day, things to do tomorrow and next week. What my mind thinks about this and that.

I notice that I’m moving robotically, lost in thought, noticing sensation and back to thought again.

I slow it right down, I want to feel everything. Every uncurl of my knuckles, every piece of hair fall around my face. I move minutely as one sensation ripples to the next. Present.

My heart beats across my chest, I’m aware of its irregularity, jumping and skipping, and it’s uncomfortable. I offer my hands out to space in front of me, palms up like an offering. Emotion arises up to my face, a tiny tear drop, I want to feel more but I’m pushing it. Let it be.

Resting, little twinges in my right big toe, left thumb pad. Heart is still knocking across my chest.
For a few moments I drift off and into a dream of being a child and picking open a red pomegranate. I jolt myself back to awareness thinking about the dream. Heart is softer.
